R emembering Nikolai Hanson

Dear Bavarian United Families,

With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our U9 Boys Academy players, Nikolai Hanson. After speaking with his family, we felt it was appropriate to communicate this loss with our Bavarian United community as we all come together to grieve and honor his memory.

Nikolai was a tenacious soccer player who gave his all on the field, showing passion and determination beyond his years. Off the field, his infectious smile, constant singing, and goofy antics—like making silly faces and doing “The Griddy”—brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

A memorial service to celebrate Nikolai’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 , at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Mequon, WI. Visitation will occur from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM , followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM .

In place of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe in Nikolai’s memory. The funds will be used to establish a soccer scholarship with the Bavarian United Soccer Club, ensuring that other children can learn to love soccer as Nikolai did and keep his name and passion alive. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Hanson family during this unimaginable time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as we reflect on the joy, laughter, and light Nikolai brought to Bav's Nation and his community.

Team Rehabilitation is offering a 1-day workshop focused on prevention. Training will specifically dive into ACL specific drills and better ways to manage any lower body ailments that may be bothering your athletes.

As the rate of injury increases among youth sports, this workshop is aimed to give your athletes the tools that can help them stay off the sideline and on the field by the way of strengthening, stretching, agility and dynamic stabilization training.

The 2-hour workshop will be run by Team Rehabilitations Physical Therapist, Alyssa Lombardi, and Athletic Trainer, Tyus Gross.

Registered candidates are given access to a self-study manual to be completed before attending a 90 minute in-person field session.

New Referee Courses Open

The Wisconsin Soccer Referee Development Program (WisRef) has announced courses for 2022 registration. Referee candidates who are first time Referees, or previously registered Referees who have had a lapse in registration may register for certification starting December 10th. NOTE: U.S. Soccer Policy mandates a minimum age of 13 to start the certification – there are NO exceptions or waivers to this U.S. Soccer Policy.

The total cost of the course is $70; a background check, if 18 or older is an additional $30 (for a 2-yr period). As an incentive to grow Referee numbers for the Youth game, the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) will fully reimburse new and lapsed Referee candidates who successfully complete all of the requirements from January 2022 through April 2022 . The reimbursement will include the registration fee and background check fee, plus a 10-piece referee uniform starter kit.

New Grassroots Referee Courses require a combination of independent learning and in person, virtual instruction. The independent learning starts in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center, is followed by WisRef content, and finishes with a WisRef Virtual online Zoom session. Total instruction time is estimated at 16 hours, with the final four hours being the Virtual online Zoom session.

The Learning Center and WisRef content can be done at your own pace, and during multiple sessions. Once the Learning Center and WisRef content is complete, the Referee candidate will be availed of the opportunity to select the date and time for the Virtual online Zoom session. The Virtual online Zoom session times will typically be 8 AM – 12PM or 1 PM – 5 PM Saturdays or Sundays and will start on Saturday January 8 ^th .Additional times or days may be added based on demand. If the Referee candidate is <13, or the dates and times of the Virtual online Zoom sessions conflict with your schedule, additional courses will be offered in August of 2022, however without the reimbursement or uniform kit as outlined.

To register to become a 2022 USSF Grassroots Referee please follow the steps as outlined here https://wisref.org/grassroots-new-ref-instructions/ . These steps are also available on the WisRef website www.wisref.org .

What do these two organizations ask in return? We ask that you commit to refereeing all of 2022 and registering again for 2023 minimum. We would also hope that you continue in 2024 and beyond.

In addition to the WYSA reimbursement and uniform package, many clubs and districts also provide additional referee incentives, for a minimum number of games worked in a season. Referees should contact their local Assignor for more information on these programs, once they begin assignments.

A great first weekend of games!

Bavarian United SC (BUSC) launched its inaugural recreational soccer season this past weekend with lots of sun and smiles. Players from 6U thru 15U play recreational games throughout Glendale, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay. Thank you to our families, volunteer parent coaches, and Bavarian United SC Junior Referees for making this a great first weekend of games!

OUR RECREATIONAL PROGRAM DETAILS

Ages 6U-19U - Everyone Welcome!
Practice and play at River Park, Cumberland, Richards, Klode and Brown Deer Park
Play with classmates, friends and other players looking to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer!
Volunteer parent coaches, with professional coaching support, teach the fundamentals of soccer
Includes a Friday Night Lights featured game at Bavarians’ stadium field in Glendale!
All of this will come with the low $350 annual fee!
Fee includes: fall and spring games, Friday Night Lights game, uniform kit and a $100 refundable volunteer fee (per family)

BUSC Merger Announcement

We are better together

We are pleased to announce the merger of Inter Northshore FC (INFC) and Bavarian Soccer Club (BSC) into one greater, merged club, Bavarian United Soccer Club (BUSC). This FAQ will provide some initial information regarding the program offerings and structure of the new club.

The Board members of both clubs are excited about what the future holds for youth soccer in our communities. The two clubs have individually been providing youth soccer opportunities for many years and we strongly believe that, as a joint organization, we can better serve our communities by providing an environment for players of all ages and skill levels to find an opportunity to thrive.

Please note that there are no changes for the Spring 2021 season. All players of INFC and BSC will continue to play on their current teams and we will operate as separate clubs. The merger process will continue through the Spring and Summer of 2021, with a planned effective date of July 1, 2021.

With the merger, INFC will no longer be a region of the Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club (MKSC). Due to this transition, and per Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) policy regarding player solicitation, INFC cannot directly provide any additional information regarding registration, website links, etcetera, since this would be considered solicitation until open enrollment which begins on June 7 for 15U and below and June 14 for 16U and above.

There are many steps already in motion to make this as seamless as possible for players and parents. Please read through the FAQ as it may help answer some initial questions.
