With deep sadness, I write to inform you of the passing of Guenther Behre, former club president and Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame inductee. Guenther was a cherished member of our community and an integral part of our club’s history.
Guenther devoted his life to the Bavarian United Soccer Club, serving as a player for 17 years, coach, vice president (two terms), and president. He dedicated countless hours to the club and worked tirelessly to promote the sport of soccer in our community. Our current membership might remember Guenther and his wife Ginny leading our parking crew every night at the club’s Oktoberfest Festival. His contributions were invaluable, and his passion for the game, his club, and sharing the culture of his homeland, Germany, to his adopted home here in Milwaukee.
Guenther’s legacy will forever be remembered at Bavarian United Soccer Club, as he played an essential role in shaping the organization into what it is today. His commitment to the club was unwavering, and his leadership inspired many over decades of service.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Guenther’s wife, Ginny, his family, and many friends during this difficult time. We will be forever grateful for his dedication to our club and the undeniable impression he has left in the Wisconsin soccer community
